A MOOC is a Massive Online Course. A rapidLy growing phenomenon of the last few years, they are free, short courses open to anyone. Some of them have interactive elements. They are provided by leading Higher Education Institutions around the world.
Typically, a MOOC provides a few weeks of study at the rate of a few hours a week. There's flexibility, but it's nice not to get too far behind. They aren't always open to new learners for ever, so if you see one you fancy, sign up. Read about the MOOC, and, if you think it's for you, register, and you are in. You'll join learners with similar interests to you in lots of different places round the world.
They really are free. If you want to get accreditation for completing the course you have to pay extra.The range of topics is truly massive. Here's a selection of music courses available now or soon for beginners (March 2020).
